Where can you eat by the sea in Gaeta? On Lungomare Caboto, the seafront road in town, there are Antica Pizzeria Ciro 1923, on the Molo Sant’Antonio pier in medieval Gaeta, and Da Carrettella; on Via Flacca, the coast road towards Sperlonga, the Grand Hotel Il Ninfeo has its dining room on the beach at San Vito and Aeneas’ Landing Resort a terrace over the sea at Arenauta; in summer you can eat on the beach at Ariana Beach Garden and at Lido Selene on Serapo beach. Ariana and Lido Selene are seasonal: they are closed out of season. Ciro 1923 and Da Carrettella do not list a seasonal closure; for Il Ninfeo and Aeneas’ Landing, call before you go.

On Lungomare Caboto: Ciro 1923 and Da Carrettella
Lungomare Caboto is the seafront road that runs along the gulf in town.
Antica Pizzeria Ciro 1923 sits on the Molo Sant’Antonio pier, in medieval Gaeta. The dining room opens onto the gulf, which starts twenty metres from the tables. Its pizza tradition comes from Naples and dates back to 1923, and it is a member of the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana (no. 134). Pizzas go from a €9 marinara to €16 for the house creations. On the seafood side, starters run from €8 (a slice of tiella, Gaeta’s stuffed pie, with octopus) to €25, pasta goes up to €28 for linguine with lobster, and fresh fish is €7 per 100 g. It is open every day for lunch and dinner; in summer it is worth calling ahead.
Da Carrettella, at number 452, is a family-run pizzeria that opened in 2022. The dough rises naturally for 32 hours, there is a fried-food counter, draught beer and dishes for children. Pizzas cost from €6 (marinara) to €13, fried snacks from €2.50 (potato croquette) to €15, and the panuozzo sandwiches €11. It is closed on Tuesdays. You can book by phone or WhatsApp. The pizzeria does not mention sea-view tables, so ask when you book if that matters to you.
Along Via Flacca: San Vito and Arenauta
Via Flacca is the coast road from Gaeta towards Sperlonga. Here the restaurants belong to hotels with rooms and a private beach.
The Grand Hotel Il Ninfeo is in the bay of San Vito. Its restaurant seats 160 and looks onto the hotel beach; the garden that slopes down to the sea holds the remains of a Roman seaside villa from the 1st century BC. On the à la carte menu, pasta costs €24–35 (linguine with lobster is €35 per portion, for at least two people) and the catch of the day is €85 per kilo. The hotel website lists the restaurant as open every day for lunch and dinner. Bookings are by phone.
At Aeneas’ Landing Resort the restaurant has an indoor room and a rock terrace above the sea; the private beach is a small natural amphitheatre set in the rock. The website describes a buffet with the day’s catch, cooked to order, every day for lunch and dinner. Prices are not published, so ask when you book by phone or WhatsApp. Resort guests always get a table; if you are not staying there, call first.
On the beach, summer only: Ariana and Lido Selene
A “lido” in Italy is a beach club with sunbeds, umbrellas and usually food. These two work only during the bathing season.
Ariana Beach Garden is a lido with a restaurant and bar on Ariana beach: white sand between two rocky spurs, with the old Torre Viola tower standing above it. It has a level car park and a ramp down to the sand. The menu has peppered mussels, marinated anchovies, seafood pasta and tiella by the slice, €5 with vegetables and €6 with fish. The restaurant takes bookings on WhatsApp. It opens from May to September and is closed out of season.
Lido Selene is in the middle of Serapo beach. It has a seafood restaurant, a wood-fired pizzeria and a lunch buffet. The catch of the day is €8 per 100 g. It is seasonal: it opens in May and stays open until September; out of season it is closed.

Can you eat by the sea in Gaeta in winter?
Yes, on Lungomare Caboto: Ciro 1923 is open every day and Da Carrettella every day except Tuesday, and neither lists a seasonal closure. Il Ninfeo and Aeneas’ Landing say their restaurants are open every day but do not say whether that includes winter, so call first. Ariana Beach Garden and Lido Selene reopen with the beach season.
Are Ariana Beach Garden and Lido Selene open in November?
No. Ariana opens from May to September; at Lido Selene the restaurant and pizzeria run from May to September. Both are closed out of season.
Where can I get pizza on the Gaeta seafront?

It is better to. Ciro 1923 and Il Ninfeo take bookings by phone, Da Carrettella and Aeneas’ Landing also on WhatsApp. A request is not a booking: wait for the restaurant to confirm.
Which restaurants are right on the beach?
Il Ninfeo’s dining room looks onto San Vito beach. Ariana Beach Garden and Lido Selene are lidos with restaurants, open only in season. Aeneas’ Landing has a rock terrace above the sea. Ciro 1923 and Da Carrettella are on the seafront road in town.
