The Shrine of the Holy Trinity, known as Montagna Spaccata, stands on a crevice of Mount Orlando that tradition says opened at Christ’s death. Founded in the 9th century on a Roman villa, it is run by PIME missionaries and offers a path between sheer cliff faces. Highlights include the Chapel of the Crucifix, built on a hanging boulder, and the stone bed of St. Philip Neri. There is a small parking lot in the vicinity of Montagna Spaccata but we do not recommend it during busy periods as it has limited availability.
