This page explains what cookies and similar technologies scoprigaeta.it uses, what they are for, and how you can manage your preferences. For information on personal data processing in general, please see the Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your device—computer, phone, or tablet—when you visit it. They are used to remember actions and preferences (such as chosen language, consent already given, or an active session) so that they do not need to be re-entered each time. Along with cookies, this category also includes similar technologies such as browser local storage.
2. The three categories in the banner
Upon your first visit, the banner lets you choose between three categories. They are exactly these, and nothing else:
- Strictly necessary — essential for the operation and security of the website: page navigation, core features, and remembering the choice you make on the banner itself. They do not require consent and cannot be disabled, because without them the website cannot function.
- Statistical (Analytics) — they tell us in aggregate form how the website is used: which pages are read, how long visits last. They help us understand what to improve. They are only activated if you give consent.
- Marketing and profiling — they enable personalized content and tracking for advertising purposes. They are only activated if you give consent.

Each provider processes data in accordance with its own privacy policy, which we encourage you to review. If a page embeds external content—such as a video or a social media feed—that content may install its own cookies, always respecting the choices you made on the banner.
4. How to give, change, and revoke consent
Upon your first visit, a banner appears allowing you to accept all, reject everything non-essential, or open your preferences and choose category by category. Until you make a selection, statistical and marketing cookies remain disabled.
Your choice is also transmitted to Google via Consent Mode: consent to statistical cookies enables traffic measurement, while consent to marketing cookies enables advertising storage and ad personalization. Without consent, those features remain disabled.
You can change your mind at any time by reopening your preferences via the link in the website footer.
5. How to manage cookies from your browser
You can also check and delete cookies directly from your browser settings—Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge all have a dedicated section. Please note that disabling all cookies, including necessary ones, may prevent the website from functioning properly.
6. Photo contest — concluded edition
During the photo contest, which has now ended, the dedicated section used specific tracking technologies—technical cookies, local storage, and device fingerprinting—to ensure the uniqueness of each vote and prevent attempts to manipulate the rankings. These tools were strictly necessary to deliver the requested service and therefore did not require prior consent.

7. Data storage and your rights
Data collected via cookies follows the same rules as all other data: it is hosted on servers within the European Union, and any transfers to non-EU providers take place under standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission. The rights you can exercise—access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, data portability, withdrawal of consent, and lodging a complaint with the Data Protection Authority (Garante)—are the same as those listed in section 10 of the Privacy Policy, and can be exercised by writing to info@scoprigaeta.it.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy at any time. The current version in effect is the one published on this page, with the update date indicated at the top.
