Open Doors to the Heritage of the Basilica Cattedrale of Gaeta

From September to October 2026, Porte Aperte presents the visiting calendar for the Cathedral, Crypt and other heritage sites in Gaeta’s medieval quarter. Check the opening times and conditions of each venue.

PLEASE NOTE: opening times have changed compared with the summer edition.

OPENING TIMES (September–October 2026)
• Cathedral and Crypt: every day, 10:30–12:30 and 16:00–17:00
• Church of San Giovanni Evangelista a Mare: Friday to Sunday, 10:30–12:30 and 16:00–18:00
• Temple of San Francesco d’Assisi: Saturday and Sunday, 10:30–12:30
• Terra Santa di San Domenico: Sunday, 10:00–12:00, run by the Confraternita del Rosario
• Sanctuary of the Santissima Annunziata: run by Istituti Riuniti del Lazio; the parish opens it for liturgical celebrations

THE BELL TOWER CAN BE VISITED ON TWO DATES ONLY: Sunday 27 September and Sunday 25 October, at 16:00. Booking is required by writing to ars@cattedralegaeta.it.

Cathedral entry is free, as stated on the Basilica’s website. For the other visits and independently managed venues, confirm access conditions with the relevant operator. Bell-tower visits require a reservation on the dates listed above.
