Who is Martufello

Martufello is the stage name of Fabrizio Maturani, born in Sezze, in the province of Latina, in 1951. He started out at village festivals and local venues; in the late 1970s he joined Pier Francesco Pingitore’s Bagaglino company, where he was one of the best-known faces until 2011. On TV he appeared in Biberon on Rai 1 and, telling jokes, in Avanti un altro! on Canale 5; his most famous character is the «burino» (the country bumpkin). On stage in recent years he has toured with shows such as Il burino gentiluomo and I due cialtroni.
