Halloween in Gaeta is more of a community celebration than a fright fest: pumpkin workshops for children, a themed market along the Serapo promenade, and, on the evening of the 31st, roasted chestnuts and wine in the square. Halloween 2026 in Gaeta: The Programme
This year, 31 October falls on a Saturday, followed by Sunday: a full weekend. The 2026 programme has not yet been announced; in 2025, it was released around mid-October. Meanwhile in Gaeta, from 23 to 25 October, there is the Pizza Fest, and until 31 October the Cathedral is open with Porte Aperte.

What Halloween 2025 was like in Gaeta
- Il Giardino delle Zucche, Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 October, from 10:00 to 12:00 at Giardini di Serapo: pumpkin carving and painting, gardening workshop, magic potions, face painting, and a selfie corner. Organised by the Divertiamoci association with the Pro Loco, booking required.
- Halloween al mercato, Friday 31 October from 8:00 to 22:00 along Via Marina di Serapo: stalls, crafts, and themed local products.
- Festa d’autunno in Piazzetta San Carlo, Friday 31 October: from 16:30 workshops, games, and the “Zucche in Festa” for the little ones; from 19:00, after the Veglia dei Santi, an aperitivo for everyone with chestnuts, Ciccariello red wine, and music by DJ Hallovino. Free admission.
All Saints’ weekend in Gaeta: What to do beyond Halloween
- Monuments: Castello Angioino is open to visitors every day; Montagna Spaccata and Grotta del Turco change their opening hours at the end of October, so check the details before heading up.
- The sea: in early November, you can enjoy walks along Serapo and the promenade; on mild, sunny days, some people still go for a swim.
- Illuminations: Favole di Luce usually switches on during the second week of November (in 2025 on 9 November): over the All Saints’ holiday, you can see the preparations underway.
- By car: read the guide to parking and the ZTL (limited traffic zone); from Formia, there are Cotral buses.
