Medieval Gaeta
Medieval Gaeta by drone: the harbour, the Sant'Erasmo quarter below the castle, its churches and the road along the bay.
Open the guide pageThe story
Forty-eight seconds of flight over medieval Gaeta. The Sant'Erasmo quarter, Gaeta Vecchia, sits on the tip of the headland at the foot of the Angevin-Aragonese Castle: it is the part of town you see arriving from the sea, squeezed between the harbour and the climb up Monte Orlando.
The places that matter include the Santissima Annunziata complex with the Golden Chapel, Sant'Erasmo Cathedral with its crypt, the little church of San Giovanni a Mare and Porta Carlo V, the historic gateway to the alleys.
The guide to the old town has a ready-made walk and the ZTL information.
