Gaeta at sunset

The sun goes down over the bay and the drone circles the bell tower of Sant'Erasmo Cathedral, the one you can recognise from anywhere in the bay.

Below are the rooftops of Gaeta Vecchia, the medieval quarter of Sant'Erasmo climbing beneath the Angevin-Aragonese Castle, a maze of alleys, arches and churches holding a thousand years of history. It is best explored on foot: distances are short, the slopes are not.
