What makes it special
The Mausoleum of Lucius Munazio Planco, built in the first century B.C., is one of the best-preserved Roman monuments in Latium. Built in honor of the Roman consul and general, it stands on top of Mount Orlando and dominates the gulf with a breathtaking panorama. The circular structure, with a diameter of more than 30 meters, testifies to Gaeta’s historical importance in Roman times.
