Franco Marrocco in Gaeta: on Tuesday, 20 October 2026, the city will present the painter and director of the Accademia di Brera with the «Una vita per l’arte» 2026 award, followed in the afternoon by the opening of his exhibition «L’eco del bosco» at the Pinacoteca comunale «Antonio Sapone».

• 10:30, Aula consiliare del Comune (Town Hall council chamber): Mayor Cristian Leccese presents the «Una vita per l’arte» 2026 award; speeches by art critics Giorgio Agnisola and Marcello Carlino.
• 17:00, Pinacoteca comunale «Antonio Sapone», Via De Lieto 2: opening of the exhibition «L’eco del bosco».

The exhibition «L’eco del bosco»

This is a solo exhibition featuring drawings and small-format works. The closing date has not yet been announced: we will add it here as soon as it is released. From September to June the Pinacoteca is open from 4 pm to 8 pm, closed on Mondays; groups and visits at other times can be booked on +39 320 328 2380 or at pinacotecagaeta@gmail.com.

Who is Franco Marrocco

Originally from Rocca d’Evandro, he trained between Cassino and Frosinone, and since 2012 has directed the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan. He held his first solo exhibition in Cassino in 1978 and won the Premio Mazzacurati in 1979; he has exhibited at the Biennale di Venezia, the Quadriennale di Roma, and the Premio Michetti, with solo exhibitions in Paris, Stockholm, Brussels, Strasbourg, Vienna, Istanbul, Beijing, Cochabamba, and Los Angeles.
