What makes it special
Considered one of Gaeta’s most precious jewels, the Golden Chapel is a Renaissance masterpiece located inside the Sanctuary of the SS. Annunziata. Famous for its wooden barrel vault entirely covered in pure gold and the pictorial cycle by Gian Filippo Criscuolo, it is the historic site where Pope Pius IX meditated on the Dogma of the Immaculate Conception.
