The Cathedral Basilica of Gaeta, dedicated to St. Erasmus, is the religious heart of the city. Built between the 11th and 12th centuries on the remains of an ancient Roman temple, it combines Romanesque and Gothic elements. Its medieval facade and bell tower make it one of the main architectural symbols of medieval Gaeta.
