Maritime Exhibition «Gaeta e il Mare» 2026: Navigating Through History
From August 29 to September 27 at the Museo del Mare, the XXXII Mostra Marinara «Gaeta e il Mare», dedicated to the historical notes on Gaeta by Don Lidio Borgese. Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays only, 17:30-20:30.

From 29 August to 27 September 2026, the Museo del Mare in Gaeta hosts the XXXII edition of the MOSTRA MARINARA «GAETA E IL MARE», titled this year «Navigando nella Storia».
OPENING HOURS: Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays only, from 17:30 to 20:30. From Monday to Friday, the museum is closed. Throughout the exhibition period, there are ten open days to visit.
INAUGURATION: Saturday 29 August at 19:00.
The exhibition is dedicated to the notes on Gaetan history published in the 1960s by the Reverend Doctor DON LIDIO BORGESE (1905-1967), honorary inspector of antiquities for Gaeta. Archaeological artifacts, works of art, and local monuments—little-known witnesses to the city’s artistic and cultural wealth—are recounted through scholarly writing imbued with subtle irony, featuring frequent references to the ancient maritime history of Gaeta.
Organised by the Associazione Culturale «Gaeta e il Mare», in collaboration with the Comune di Gaeta, the Istituto I.I.S.S. G. Caboto di Gaeta, and the association VogAmareGaeta, under the patronage of the Comune di Gaeta.
