On the beach of Fontania stand the remains of the Roman villa of Consul Gnaeus Fonteus (1st century BC). An open-air archaeological site where it is possible to admire the impressive caves vaulted directly from the sea, in an evocative setting framed by the rock of the Nave di Serapo.
