Located overlooking the sea, Torre Scissure is a coastal watchtower that was a focal point of the defense system of the Kingdom of Naples. Like the other structures in the area, it was designed to ensure constant vigilance and quickly communicate the presence of threats from the sea. The system, desired by the Angevins, served to protect the local populations from the raids of Saracen pirates.
