The attraction

What makes it special

Perched high above the sea, Torre Scissure is a coastal watchtower that was a key point in the defence system of the Kingdom of Naples. Like the other towers in the area, it was built to keep constant watch and to raise the alarm quickly whenever a threat appeared from the sea. The network, established by the Angevins, protected local communities from raids by Saracen pirates.
