Coastal watchtower located in a dominant position on the Gaeta coastline. It was part of the complex defense and communication system of the Kingdom of Naples, originally conceived by the Angevins to create a permanent signal network along the entire coastal strip. Its main function was to spot early and stem the frequent raids of Saracens and privateers.
