Former Church of St. Jude Thaddeus
What makes it special
Located along a narrow road from Monte Orlando to Gaeta Medievale, this small neo-Gothic church was originally dedicated to St. Onofrio (there are records of it as early as 1509). After being damaged by numerous sieges, it was radically restored in 1853 by Ferdinand II of Bourbon under the direction of engineering officer Giacomo Guarinelli. Characterized by an ogival portal and a decorative rose window, the church is now deconsecrated and in a state of neglect, thus being uninhabitable and unvisitable inside.
