The Weekly Market in Gaeta: Wednesday, Opening Times and Road Closures

WHEN AND WHERE:
– Day: every Wednesday.
– Opening times: 07:30 to 14:00.
– Main area: the former Avir car park (piazzale ex Avir), the hub of the market.
– The stalls also extend along part of Corso Italia.
– What you find: clothes, shoes and local food such as Gaeta olives, fresh fruit and vegetables and buffalo mozzarella.

TRAFFIC (what changes on Wednesday morning):
– Part of Corso Italia is closed to traffic for the whole duration of the market.
– ON WEDNESDAY MORNING ONLY, the Serapo seafront becomes TWO-WAY as far as the sports hall (Palamarina): drivers should pay close attention to this change.
– The former Avir car park cannot be used for parking on Wednesday morning, because the market is held there.
– Enea’s tip: the former Avir is normally the largest car park closest to the centre. On Wednesday mornings, plan an alternative and walk to the market.
